Real estate agents are made fun of on the daily (most deservedly). Agents are often compared to slimy used car salespeople, but there are a select few that can actually make fun of themselves and have a little fun with it. Unfortunately, there are also agents that take offense to everything and anything and we’re sure this post will not make those agents happy. Yes, we recognize that we’re just perpetuating the absolutely inappropriate conduct that took place, but frankly, we have no problem with it–share the info is our motto ;)

Back story:

Over the weekend, we got an email sent to us from an agent of a major SF real estate company. This email was sent to about 100 agents and managers within the company. What happened is that somebody took their S&M a little too far and it seems the DOM pissed off the SUB real good and the SUB wanted the world to know how dirty this agent is. In just about any “normal” office, such performance would be swiftly followed by an apology, a firing and a PR blitz, but in the world of real estate, people laugh, point fingers and share with each other. Real estate agents do not have much of a governing body to tell them what is right and wrong (think SEC for securities). Instead, agents promise to follow a code of ethics and each company tries to enforce such standards upon their agents, but when emotions rise, these independant contractors act out like children, email blast everybody and their mother and share very private stories about who’s screwing who, who’s in rehab and all the other bull sh*t that agents get caught up in.

In this case, a disgruntled SUB (non agent) decided to send an email chain and 3 extremely graphic pictures to the majority of the DOM’S (agent) company. Just imagine opening up a work email to find this sent to your entire company.

Emails:

from DOM (agent) to “puppy”:

[I] Would like to hear more from you as to what you see yourself doing and what you would like being done to you. Tell me how you would be of service. You were stellar at one time; can you be that supper bitch puppy again? I want to hear your thoughts in details.

from puppy to DOM (agent):

I am not happy where I am. I am bored. I am relegated to monotonous and menial work. And I miss California terribly! I miss you most of all, of course, and desperately need to be back in my kennel in a tighter collar.

Your adoring
puppy

from DOM (agent) to puppy:

Puppy,
What is going on with you? What are your needs? Are you not happy where you are? Are you missing California? Are you wasting your time where you are? Do you want to come back and get the spanking you deserve? Are you ready to serve the way you need to be of service? Do you need a tighter collar? Don’t pussyfoot around the issues be clear and decisive as to what you want and where you want to be. I have a leash for you. So let me know when you want to get back in your kennel.

from puppy to agent:

What did I say? My relationship with this Dom is entirely platonic, I assure you. He and I are not compatible. You and I, however, connected at a level which I can never hope to find again with any other.

puppy

Uh oh, that last email may explain everything. Did Puppy cheat on DOM and if so, did that warrant DOM’s whole company finding out.

update: as of 1:30pm today, we found out that the employer of DOM sent out an email to all agents letting them know that this embarrassing dialogue was caused by a virus and that DOM was a victim. We may or may not believe it, but either way, remember to update your virus software often, puppy.

    Nice looking person….

Why publish her pic… ? It may come to embarrass her and/or you…

i figured that since you couldn’t see her face and no names were used, that putting the picture up really just demonstrates how inappropriate the email and the industry can be. the other two pictures were downright scary, so i decided not to put them on the blog.

I don’t think the pix is gonna embarrass anyone other than the people in the picture – and I’m fairly certain Garrett isn’t the person in the pix — taking the pix — i’m fairly certain – am I right G — you are not behind the camera are ya — you SUPER FREAK!

  5. I got that email and thought it was junk. I’m going to retrieve it from the trash and read the whole thing now. I didn’t get the pics with it though…WTF. Greg, you Puppy? Come on now. Do tell. How’d you get the photos if nobody else did. LOL!!!!

  6. Garrett says:

@ thefrontsteps: i can’t reveal my sources ma friend, but trust me, some folks got the photos…
@ homegreg: i can assure you that i am not in the picture, nor did i take the picture ;)

Hey FrontSteps — don’t toss Greg under the bus — this is an All Goldman, All the Time Blog — i’m just a contributer and you’ll not i didn’t contribute to this post — not my writing style and you know I look better with my shirt off and a chain around my neck that that picture! (I’m also a better photog than whomever took the pix)

SWEEEEET Industry — so we’re buying the Kool Aid there selling huh – this was SPAM and a virus — not sure I’m buying that story!

So, I was confused by the text but delighted with the pic. I think that you have to start reading from the bottom, with Puppy’s “What did I say” email — then work your way upward to get the chronological read of the exchange. Is that right? It works better for me if I read it it backwards like that.

We enjoyed the pic. And, nobody’s naive elderly aunt buys that VIRUS story. DOM is totally outed (to those of you in the know).

I’ll never look at another real estate professional in quite the same way
    ;p

  9. Don’t make me take my shirt off to prove it wasn’t me. I still think somebody at Schtuff got schtuffed! LOL! Just kidding, of course, but watch out for them shady folks out there.
