I’m sure this has been asked before, but why name them numbered “districts” when they don’t cover the same neighborhoods as our established political districts? Confuses things.

good question. the number districts are determined by the san francisco association of realtors. though they are not the political districts, they are in fact numbered in a logical and official fashion. you will see from the map link that i didn’t just make those up, however, i have no idea where they came from.
