Play Ball! These words bring out the youngster in almost any red-blooded American. The green grass, smell of ballpark franks and chill of frothy domestic swill take us to an age of innocence. A collective sigh of relief can be felt from sea to shining sea as your team takes the home field for the first time. That is, of course, unless you’re a 2008 San Francisco Giants fan. Play Ball to you might lead to a knee-jerk, Pavlovian response sounding something like “Doh!” There will still be 156 games to play at first pitch on Opening Day at AT&T Park this Monday, April 7th at 1:35pm. That’s 81 home games to lament about the good old days of Barry Lamar Bonds.
The Giants Front Office has put together a whole slue of activities to take your mind off the deficiencies in scoring potential, horrible fielding and lackadaisical approach to America’s Favorite Pastime. The Giants “Special Events” line-up provides dozens of great excuses to attend ballgames in China Basin. From Heritage Nights to Fundraisers, Singles Nights to Industry Mixers, AT&T Park will host a variety of inexpensive and very entertaining activities such as:
Asian Heritage Week
Legal Professionals Night
Crazy Crab Feed
Jewish Heritage Night
And much more…
These events include everything from Bobblehead Dolls to t-shirts and free beer, so join the fun!
